DOS and Windows 2000 Commands

For all you people that don't have a clue about navigation through DOS or Windows 2000 console, this may help:
Usually if you put a /? after a command, you will get more info on how to use the command.

Dos:  
Command Description/Usage
     CD Command: you normally use this to open a directory EX: "cd shazbot" will open a folder called "shazbot" if it is in the current scope (directory).
     CONTROL Simply type "control" in your dos prompt to bring up your control panel. Only works in windows.
     DIR Refresh Directory: Lists the contents of a directory and information about the files in the directory you are in. simply type "dir" and the contents of the place you are in are displayed.
     FTP Just trpe in "ftp" and you get some sort of dos ftp program
     NBTSTAT Displays protocol statistics and current TCP/Ip connections using NetBIOS over TCP/IP.
     NETSTAT Net Stat: Shows ALL the connections to your computer and the port number they are on. Say you needed to know a website or an ICQ buddy's IP, well, just go to the server or message them, and type in "netstat", seconds later, tada, the IP address you are looking for.
     PING Ping: To get your ping time to any server, just type in "ping servernamegoeshere". Type ping/? for more usage options.
     TRACERT Trace Route: Traces the Hops from your IP (computer) to another IP (server or computer) EX: "tracert www.yahoo.com" would trace the hops and give you 3 different ping times for each hop.
     NSLOOKUP nslookup: ns is short for DNS. This program will take any hostname and give you its IP address or addresses or if you give it the IP address, it will give you a server name.

Displays or modifies file extension associations

Note: Some Windows 2000 commands may work in DOS and practically all DOS commands work in Windows 2000
